Adobe Photoshop is a graphics editor for macOS and Windows. Photoshop is the industry standard for image creation, manipulation and processing. It is available on most of the computers around STA desk (level 1 of the library).
Pros of Photoshop:
- A lot of features that allow for a wide range of professional image editing
- Gives options for saving in different file formats as well as adjusting the image size and resolution to either increase and/or decrease the file size of the image without losing image quality
- Repetitive steps that can be applied to multiple files, you can record your steps and perform that as one function for each image with the click of a button.
Cons of Photoshop:
- Too many features may make it complicated for many users
- Any potential alternatives are too simplistic and/or too 2d oriented to support 3d files
- The initial learning curve has always been steep
- Expensive
- Regular Photoshop does not have as much 3D print support as the Creative Cloud version
