At Trinity College, we are lucky enough to have Shibboleth as a central login system requiring only one password. However, with the many other accounts a student uses multiple passwords are still necessary and often hard to remember as each require a variant to make it more secure.
The solution to this is a password manager that will store all of your passwords in one secure location and all you have to do is remember the one password it takes to access the res of them. In this digital age with hacks of large corporations often in the news, a password manager is a critical line in your digital defense.
The most often recommended password managers are LastPass and 1Password. Both offer a free version that provides most functions a student would need. The STAs recommend all students have a password manager and are available to offer more advice!
