Whenever a participant shares their screen, any other participant in the meeting can request to take control of their screen.

This is useful whenever a participant wants to learn how to use a software, teach another participant how to access something, or even help another participant with an online task.

To request control on Zoom:

  1. While the participant shares their screen, select ‘Options‘ in the top menu bar of your screen.
  2. Select ‘Request Remote Control‘ from the drop-down menu.
  3. A window will pop up asking if you are sure you want to request control. Click ‘Accept‘.
  4. Now, the participant sharing their screen will receive this request as well and will have to click ‘Accept‘.
  5. Now, you should be able to control the other participant’s screen.
  6. To stop remote control, either participant can ‘Abort Control‘ on the top menu bar.
