    Fall 2020 Remote Access to Bloomberg Professional

    Trinity has purchased Disaster Recovery Services from Bloomberg that allows remote access to our Bloomberg Professional terminals. For Fall 2020, faculty, staff and students can access Bloomberg through Bloomberg’s remote access portal. All 12 of the Trinity shared terminals will be available for remote access, but we are limited to 12 users at any one time. If there are no available shared terminals, you will see a message that all terminals are in use and will not be available for login until one becomes available.     You can now access many lab applications on your own computer or mobile device using our Windows Virtual Desktop. Applications available include ArcGIS, Atlas.ti, Chemdraw, Eviews, SPSS, and STATA. It also includes the desktop versions of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.     Remote Access to Bloomberg Market Concepts Course

    Due to the COVID19 pandemic, Bloomberg is allowing colleges and universities with existing Bloomberg labs to offer the Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC) course to their students online for free (normally this is a $149 charge). If a student completes the Core Concepts modules in the BMC course, they become “Bloomberg certified” and can list this on a resume for job applications. Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC) is a 12-hour self-paced e-learning course that provides an introduction to financial markets. By taking BMC, a student will learn about the different financial markets via 35 learning outcomes and will become familiar with over 100 Bloomberg terminal functions.     Specialized software for the 2020 Fall semester will be available through the open computer labs outside of class time, such as LITC B02, for students who are on campus. Please make sure to wipe down the table and keyboard after you are done using a machine. Remote students either on- or off-campus will have access to a variety of software packages through a Windows virtual desktop.     UNFORTUNATELY THIS OFFER FROM ADOBE IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE To support you during this time of remote learning, Adobe has made the Creative Cloud Suite available for you to install on your personal computer. This license will last until the end of May July 6. Note: Adobe is providing cloud storage for your projects for the duration of the temporary license. We strongly suggest that you make copies of your projects on a local drive. You will lose access to your projects that are stored in the Adobe Cloud when the license ends.
